Does God wears Nike?

No of course he doesn’t.  Nike was founded in 1964 long after the ascension of Jesus.  But the Nike tick must be one of God’s favourite shapes (h/t DF).  Creation to New Creation wasn’t a continual upward movement: we first descended down the fall.  Jesus went from the Son of God to the married-and-with-brothers Son of God via the cross and the grave.  When the Israelites cried out to God from deliverance from Egypt, Pharoah first made them collect straw for their bricks.

So if we start earnestly praying for something, what should we expect to see if God is going to grant our request? Slow steady improvement? Or first a “fall” and then “the” answer to our prayers?
